Ingredients

  • 4 – 7 ice cubes

  • 1 cup fat-free plain yogurt (about 8 ounces)

  • 3/4 cup mango slices in extra light syrup, drained (can be found in the canned food section)

  • 1 teaspoon sugar substitute (optional)

  • Fresh mango slices (optional, for garnish)

Directions

  • Prep the Blender: A quick tip before you start: always add your liquids and softer ingredients first, then the fruit and ice on top. This helps the blender run smoothly and avoids the blades getting stuck.
  • Add Ingredients: Place the ice cubes in the bottom of the blender. Add the yogurt, drained mango slices, and the sugar substitute (if using).
  • Blend: Blend on high speed until completely smooth.
  • Taste and Adjust: Taste the smoothie and adjust the sweetness if needed, then blend for a few more seconds to incorporate.
  • Serve: Pour into a tall glass, garnish with a fresh slice of mango if desired, and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Using Frozen Mango: If using frozen mango instead of jarred/canned, skip the ice cubes entirely and add the frozen mango last, on top of the yogurt. Start blending on low speed for a few seconds before increasing to high for the smoothest result.
  • Preventing a Grainy Texture: A grainy texture can sometimes happen when commercially frozen mango is processed before it is fully ripe. To avoid this, freeze your own fresh mango at home, stick to the jarred/canned mango, or blend in a tablespoon of coconut cream to smooth things out.
